Merry Snowy Christmas from Sweden!

Snow, ice, lots of walks and more ice! Our driveway is a bit of ice skating rink at the moment, so you can imagine it is a tad bit tricky to walk around without the spikes on our boots. However for our fourlegged friend, he seems to really enjoy slip sliding around only to regain full speed when he jumps into the snow. Brrrrr

Buon Compleanno Michele!

This year's birthday called for the Swedish "Carl-Gustav Cake" also known as the "King's cake." Sponge cake layered with cream, chocolate, meringue center, covered in a layer of marzipan and sprinkled with cocoa. We could not find the king's cake last year, so he chose the princess cake*. Poor guy. This year...he was pretty excited to have found the king's cake. Paired with a magnum of Prosecco of course. Oh so good!

ps. He's enjoying his new Canon 70d birthday gift :)

*The princess cake is slightly different, layered with a jam instead of meringue and green marzipan instead of yellow. Both are delicious!

Norrfallsviken & Storsand beach

Recently, we had lunch with some friends at a local restaurant in Norrfallsviken and then spent the afternoon in the sun, sand and enjoying the views. Mozy enjoyed his first trip to the beach, racing up and down the water's edge enjoying every second of it.

Morning walk

7am morning dog walk in the neighborhood. The speed limit is 70 km/h of course. (that's roughly 43mph)  :) Despite the neighbors fly up and down the gravel roads. Oh country life.

Crew

An old fishing boat converted into a house boat arrived on Friday. As they approached the marina, the crew included a beagle, a samoyed and dachsund onboard. What a troop!

New captain

Ever since we arrived in Sweden and at the marina, Docksta Havet, Mozy has been beyond excited to run up and down the pier and floating wharf. Each time Michele stepped onto his boat, Mozy would clearly bark  communicate that he wanted to jump on as well. The canine life vests with a handle are brilliant! He wanted to jump on, but was too nervous the first time. So I "handed" him over to Michele via the handle. Now, Mozy has figured out how to jump directly from the wharf onto the boat. Once he was on, he walked all over the deck and sat quietly. There was some serious work to be done and Mozy was not about to miss anything. As you can see, this was the highlight of his day! Next up...actually sailing. Stay tuned!
