"Antonino Bongiovì"...from Sicily

During a recent trip to the supermercato, Michele was pleasantly surprised to find a special kind of fish. Not just any fish. As I wandered around the fruits and vegetables section, Michele proudly walked towards me and presented the one and only "Antonino Bongiovì"...from Sicily. These are sardines packed and cured in salt. My initial thought was "wow, that's quite a can of sardines!" but I was quickly reassured that they would be quite tasteful. Indeed they were and in case you're wondering...yes, we still have some left. They are best paired with a thin cracker like bread (Carasau) and a dry white wine of your choice.
